THREAD A — IRGC CLAIM (ATTRIB only). Mehr News Agency, Iran Press, and Anadolu Agency wraps of 10 September 2026 carry the IRGC Navy line that a U.S. unmanned surveillance vessel — named Saildrone / “Sildrone” in AA’s transliteration, Saildrone Explorer in Iranian outlets — hull number 5838 was struck at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Rear Adm. Ali Ozmaei, IRGC Navy commander, is quoted via Mehr saying the unmanned reconnaissance vessel was struck and warning that any hostile movement will be targeted. Iranian statements further claim the Strait is “closed” / blocked and under IRGC “intelligence supervision and smart control.” AA notes the IRGC Navy did not detail the weapon, damage, or timing — and records no immediate U.S. military comment. UKMTO Warning 133-26, timed 1910 UTC on 10 September 2026, reports two vessels in a security incident about four nautical miles west of Khasab, Oman. The master of a third ship, roughly six nautical miles away, reported seeing four unknown projectiles strike two unknown vessels; one caught fire; the second’s status was unclear. UKMTO said authorities are investigating, advised caution, and did not attribute an attacker. Ship & Bunker: vessels not yet identified; no casualty line in that wrap. Extra invents neither names nor a firer.

Why the split is the story. Khasab sits on Oman’s Musandam Peninsula at the Hormuz approaches — near THREAD A’s waterway, not the same confirmed attack. UKMTO has not named Iran, the United States, or any other party as the attacker in Warning 133-26. The IRGC Saildrone claim is Iranian attribution about an unmanned U.S. platform.
