WIRE / POWER DESK — Sensitive factual Extra. Philadelphia police and federal partners continue a months-long investigation centered on a home in the city’s Olney section after recovering a massive digital archive. Named ABC News / 6abc / NBC10 wraps of mid-September 2026 briefings put more than one million digital images and videos under review, with investigators saying five women linked to the case are feared dead or believed deceased based on image and video review — while stressing that no bodies have been recovered and that none of the women have been declared legally dead on that basis alone. Extra files the police frame. It invents no gore stills, no body counts beyond attribution, and no charges that named wraps do not lock. PATH /wire/philadelphia-five-women-images-sep18. What police said — ATTRIB ABC / 6abc / NBC10. At a Wednesday 16 September 2026 press update carried by ABC News and local affiliates, officials described more than 1 million individual digital evidence items requiring review, with roughly 30 percent of that review completed in named wraps. Nearly 60 different people appear in the recovered material, police said. A total of seven women have been connected to the investigation in those wraps; investigators believe five are deceased based on image/video review if the images are authentic and unaltered — a Medical Examiner belief framed as conditional in 6abc / Inspector Ray Evers colour.
More than one million digital items. Five women feared dead on image review. No bodies recovered. Some who appeared lifeless were found alive.
Named missing women — ATTRIB only, careful. Named wraps identify among those linked: Gabrielle Amarando, Maribel Fresses, Blair Tonzelli, Amy McHale, and Nicole Fusaro, plus additional unidentified women seen in images. Extra prints names as already published by named outlets after police identification. It does not invent timelines of death, cause of death, or crime-scene detail beyond what those briefings state. It does not republish or describe graphic poses.
Critical caveat — some who appeared lifeless were found alive. Police caution, as carried by 6abc, that other women captured appearing unconscious or killed have since been located alive since the investigation began. That caveat is mandatory colour on this Extra. Image appearance is not a death certificate. No bodies recovered. No invented ME declarations beyond the attributed conditional belief language.
House / suspects colour — ATTRIB, not Extra’s finding. Briefings and wraps center on the Chew Avenue property linked to Raymond “R.C.” Horsch (died 2025, age 82 in named wraps) and Eugene Horsch. Searches recovered chemicals, urns believed to hold human ashes (with some identified as relatives/friends and others unidentified in ABC colour), fake law-enforcement credentials, drugs, a gun, writings, and the digital archive. Extra attributes. It does not invent new charges against living persons beyond what named authorities have announced. At file time, named wraps stress no charges associated with these disappearances have been filed in the sense Extra can lock as a charging document.
Pace and federal help. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel stressed authorities will “dictate the pace” of the massive investigation (ABC). FBI agents have increased support to help authenticate the million-plus items (ABC7 NY / Action News colour). Extra does not invent a charging calendar or a recovery timeline.
Still discipline — exterior only. Hero still: Philadelphia City Hall exterior (Toniklemm / Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0, 28 Jul 2019). Civic exterior archival. NOT the Olney house. NOT digital evidence. NOT urns. NOT gore. NOT AI. VIDEO=no on site. Extra does not host recovered images.
What this page is not. It is not a true-crime slideshow. It is not a charge sheet. It is not a declaration of legal death. It is a process Extra locking the police/ABC frame: ~1M images, five women feared dead / believed deceased on image review, seven women linked, no bodies recovered, alive-found caveat. Distinct from any invented serial narrative Extra does not have.
CLAIM vs CONFIRMED. CONFIRMED as ABC / 6abc / NBC10 ATTRIB of Philadelphia police briefings (mid-Sep 2026, incl. Wed 16 Sep update): >1 million digital evidence items; ~30% review complete; ~60 people seen in material; seven women linked; five feared dead / believed deceased on image/video review (conditional ME belief language in named wraps); no bodies recovered; some who appeared lifeless later found alive; Chew Avenue / Horsch house colour as attributed; chemicals/urns/credentials as attributed; FBI support colour as attributed; no Extra-invented charging document. NOT here: gore stills; invented causes of death; legal death declarations; Extra hosting recovered images; AI crime art.
